Voice over jobs can be highly paid, fun, and very rewarding as well. No matter how far you plan to go as a voice over actor, a good vocal presence is essential. There was a time when possessing an unusual, deep sounding voice was sough after. Today, clients are beginning to look for more natural or normal sounding voices to bring their words to life. If your goal is to voice a character for an animated show, voice ads on the radio, or be the prominent spokesperson in a commercial, there is hope. Even if you don’t have a distinctive voice, you can still become a successful voice over actor.
At Long Last, once you become successful and can afford to have an in home studio built, you can execute voice over jobs from the comfort of your home. But in the beginning, there is much preparation to receive before you pay your dues and earn the right to work in you PJs. Anyone that has hired you as a professional voice over to read their script expects certain things in return. Although it is correct that a great voice over job starts with a great script, any client will expect you to record several versions changing word emphasis and speed. They will also then ask you to know which version to keep for the final cut.
